Salathe is right. Any 2 letter.com domains that expire won't be allowed to be re-registered and any that already exist are fine.

If I owned a 2 letter .com I certainly wouldn't be letting it expire!

I'm guessing the previous owners sold up... used to be something like ''the start of the internet'' ... can't remember for sure now... only looked once and was instantly jealous of the domain.
