Ya, my friend has been with Hostgator for a few months now, I plan to buy a dedicated server from Hostgator in a few days.

I wouldn't go with Dreamhost, they really oversell their servers. While you do get a ton of space and bandwidth, it's all oversold, so there usually is a clause in the TOS in which you usually will never reach that amount.

It was hard for me to read this thread and relate to much of it...I've been with Site5 now for about a month and a half and server speed and uptime has been great. 99.9% uptime and speed is rarely slow...I've been with a lot of hosts in the past and Site5 is arguably one of the best I've had...granted, it's been a relatively short time (1-2 months)

They can be a bit slow on the support tickets, but that doesn't really bother me since I rarely use the support.

I guess it's just luck of the draw...I'm sure not all of their servers are up to par, but I know that the one I'm on sure is...and I know two other people with Site5 who have had no complaints either.

hmm, i must say i recently cut one of my dedicateds out and switched over to site5, and have no complaints. their support seems fast, i have sent 3 tickets i believe over misc issues and they were responded to within 20-30 min max i would say. i think any host will frustrate you once in awhile no matter what

Hey Robson, sorry to hear that. But I, for one never had problems with Site5 and staff response is always very fast.

Many people think about SurfSpeedy as a good hosting company too. I used to have hosting with them untill I had the exact same problem as you have had.
I created a new ticket and did not receive a reponse for several weeks. After I told them I switched hosts I got a response several minutes later saying 'Account deleted..'.

So it seems people have very diverse stories about hosting companies.
Have you had any response from them yet?

In my personal opinion the only host to go with is HostGator.
Fast support, great help, fair prices. You may pay a tiny bit more, but it's worth it.

Yeah, I can't stand scams like that. You should find another place. Blue Host is pretty good.

I think using the word 'scam' to describe this is a bit much.
