I started using cracked stuff... But then I was given the complete Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and Audition) in recognition for all the work I did at my high school. Macromedia Studio I was given by the same school for pretty much the same reason... Visual Studio and Microsoft Office I got from my Microsoft Academic Alliance. Zend I purchased on student discount.

So yeah I've gone clean Not even my WinXP Pro is cracked! (Got from my Microsoft Academic Alliance). I wouldn't say I'm against piracy completely. I just feel much better about my work knowing it's all legal. However, people who pirate the software i write... Now that pisses me off! So don't try it!

Regards,
Patrick

When I first tried Photoshop back in 97 it was an install from someone that owned it which I used until I started making money from it - bought my own legal version as soon as I did

Everything I use now I either bought myself or had bought for me by clients/employers

I have one cracked piece of software - Web Pictures Grabber or something which I won't even need when I get my PowerBook and OSX Tiger. All the rest of my software; Windows XP Pro, Office Pro 2003, Macromedia Studios MX 2004, Photoshop 7 etc are all legal purchases.

i will aim to by software if i cant find a freeware/open source alternative.

I don't agree with piracy, but some people have no choice.
