What is a mock design?

well there's a difference between a mock up and the design process it's a part of.

The bare-bones process is this:

1. interview
2. research
3. solidify your thoughts
4. brainstorm like crazy - mock ups
5. prune away the rubbish
6. refine
7. audit
8. defend
9. present

mock design is where you design makes fun of all the other designs. it mocks them and then farts in their general direction. :P

Put that together with some technical terms and thats pretty much it.

in my opinion a mock design is giveing the client a preiview of what the prject will resemble after completion. such mock ups are sued on sites, before you invest the time in codeing. so if they have any changes they need it is changed before you start codeing.
