I don't see why there's a need to re-direct the domain to your forums. Simply put up a page saying they've type in the wrong URL. Why try and gain more hits for your own website from someone's unfortunate typing skills?

If it is worth something, I guarantee that Google will be on your ass for it, and you won't be selling it to them, they'll have you in court faster than you can say "Oh crap! I'm in court!"

I would happily give it to them lol...I'm not going to go to court over a domain name that cost me $8.88

Chris I'd use it to get a few extra hits to my site. It's a good strategy to use typos to get your own traffic and it's been used for years already. I doubt youll go to court for this but you never know.

I believe using typos to gain traffic is actually classifed as an offence called typosquatting.

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/T/typosquatting.html

See here^
" (tī´pō-skwot´´ting) slang. Purchasing a domain name that is a variation on a popular domain name with the expectation that the site will get traffic off of the original sight because of a user's misspelling of the name. For example, registering the domain names webapedia.com or yahooo.com in the hopes that someone making a typo will get to that site unexpectedly."

It's not illegal...yet at least not here and still a legitimate way of using typos. What is illegal though is using something like a disney typo and redirect to porn or some other adult related material.
