xb4b1x,

Are you going to have a forum? Is it for beginner or advance? Please, explain more what your goals are for it? where are you located?

If you can't think of a good name for a site, it's doomed from the start

A name isn't the most important thing, the success depends on design and content unless moobrack has a meaning that I’m unfamiliar with then it doesn't have anything to do with design. there are lots of successful websites with sometimes weird names. btw no offense to anthony intended

Good point Blaze...BUT a lot of times your design revolves around the name. The name IS important. It has to be something people will remember.

Well...pretty much every forum name with webmaster in it is taken. Don't do a "talk" something, those are pretty much gone. Really, if you want to have a large forum, try an idea no one has thought of. That's the best way. There are a lot of webmaster forums already.

And forum software...go with vBulletin. Others make you look cheap. You want members to think that you really put time into it(which you would have if you paid for vB and the yearly updates)

Of course, I wish I had extra money lying around for a vB license...

I agree blaze, a name really isn't crucial at all...look at google/yahoo/ebay, names that aren't exactly descriptive of the site but they're now some of the biggest online companies. It has to be said thought there is a big difference between a company like google that can afford to brand itself and a site made from a 15 year old as a hobby. Ideally having "webmaster" in the name is crucial for this specific project and it will help you with search engine placement as well as being descriptive to your audience.
