If you wish to further your skills as a designer in the field of html coding I would suggest you learn to do it by hand. Dreamweaver is good to assist you in learning code, but purists hand code.

Try looking for tutorials here:

That's how I learned. Don't mess with Dreamweaver or anything like that, it will only slow you down in the long run. Master notepad.

I started learning HTMl by using Microsoft Frontpage, and i seriously regret it now. I recommend you learn by hand coding, forget about WYSIWYG editors, learning by hand coding is far better in the long run.

Handn coding Schmand coding, use the tools available. If you have dreamweaver do it, eventaully you will be using the code view very often anyway. I can wite just as clean CSS site in Dreamwever as any hand coded site in about 1/5th the time. You will learn coding faster in Dreamweaver as you can viusally see the elements and how the code works around them.

Why would you spend 6 months learning hand coding? it's not 1990. Are your sites that big that they demand hand coded perfection, do you think a client cares? If you had a HUGE site of over 400 pages your not going to hand code.

"That's how I learned. Don't mess with Dreamweaver or anything like that, it will only slow you down in the long run. Master notepad."

Wanna Bet on that?

Mate if you want to learn Dreamwever I'd do it, Version 8 is pretty dam good. A very handy for building pure css layouts.

It's like using a rock to pound in a nail when a hammer is right next to you.
