  Old  Your own programming language?

Has anyone ever thought about creating their own programming language? I've often wondered if this is possible, if you created your own language what features/functions would it include? What would you call it?

I'd call my programming language 8--- because it would be so recognizable *laugh*. How do you program a programming language?

Programming languages have compilers, which basically turn the code the user puts in to Binary.

So you'd need to make a program (Compiler) that does that!

To write your own language, you simply need to think of a syntax and program a parser which will translate it into executable code.

A few large programming languages which will go un-named simply take their own syntax and use their parser to translate it into C code, and then run it.

I considered making my own language, for fun, something along the lines of PHP BASIC. It'd basically allow you to do stuff like

Code:
For $i = 0 to 10
	If $i % 2
		echo ($i . "<br />")
	End If
Next
Seems like a fun project huh?

Regards,
Patrick

you could make an editor that converted east to remeber code into c or c++ etc then compile it that would be simple or you base it round binary

If I was to make my own programming language - it would be the easiest language to use. It would be an AI language so - if I wanted to create a forum using my code language - all I would have to do it type:

[// Make me a Forum. //]

And there ya have it - a fully functional Forum
