Is it a good idea to have a custom template made, and I personally fully code the whole template, including a content manager, and sell it?

If it isn't, why wouldn't it be? A waste of time in certain aspects?
If it is, how much would you get for such a design/template?

I'm just trying to figure out how to make some money to tie me over for the time being.
