  Old  42" plasma, worth it?

I saw a deal where I can get a 42" plasma screen tv for $609
comparing to other 42 inchers this was a sweet price. But according to the specs is this tv worth it? I saw that highest resolution is 1024 x 768, it stikes me as not so good quality wise, especially if you have a laptop connected with a much higher resolution... any advices?

It says £609 for me. ;o

In which case.. It'd be $1218.

I don't really know much about LCDs and Plasma screens but I have heard bad things about plasmas.

Heres a little article that may help you decide:

LCDs have a longer lifespan, and the screens can't burn in

Got to go with HD, it's slowly becoming a standard.

^ Is completely correct -- in a year or two, in America (and possibly Britain) 1080p will become the broadcast standard of regular television.

It's $609 because almost no one buys TVs that large with no HD capability. They're probably trying to get rid of it.
