I would buy all the parts separately and buy it yourself, you will save a bit of cash. They are way overpriced for what you get.

dell owns alienware, so im guessing they took all the "secret" technology from alienware and added it to there XPS's.

But i think there overpriced, and all about the case.. I would suggest building your own, or buying the raw parts from newegg and having a local tech put together for you.. you will see yourself saving a lot of money or for the same price building a bomb ass rig.

I mean I have a little more than $3,000 to spend and I thought AlienWare would be good for that price

If you're in to the looks of Alienware computers, then by all means go for it. However you should be aware for that chunk of money you could do yourself good and save a bit if you were to design and build your own similar to their specs.

Regards,
Jeff

I know I can save lots but its like a car. You can get a $10,000 car which could perform just as good as a $90,000 car but people buy them for the looks

Alienware is the exact same stuff as a comp you can build yourself, but with a cool case. I would recommend building your own and get a cool case, not only will it make you look like a better gamer but you will save good money.

That was an arguement I used when my step dad said the iPhone was a waste a money then I asked him why would he buy a $80,000 car when he could get one just as good for $10,000 hehe I won anyway but now I will get on topic

I've always thought Alienware was a bit expensive, but they do build sexy machines with high-end components.

If I didn't build my own PC's, I would definitely look at Alienware as an option. Go for it!

Alienwares look good but I would definitely just build one and get an awesome case.
