Old  Where to go from here?

Hi ya guys and gals.

EDIT: Here is an update, http://www.talkfreelance.com/viewIm...3&fullsize=true

I'm a bit stuck at the moment, I thought I should do a little more designing since I'm getting kinda bored now so heres what I'm working on.

I have started this design, yet I seem to have lost what I should do next. As is kind of obvious, it is looking kind of empty and plain (the lower half). I was aiming to try something a little more different, after getting bored with the typical CSS layouts which are now becoming common place here.

I am also in two minds about the colour, when I have looked around at typical 'black and white contrast' sites I find they are always using green or orange. I did try something different with this darkish blue but I am not too keen on it. Although a couple of those I have already shown it to think it goes well, comments on this and suggestions for other colours would be welcome.

Your thoughts on the site in its current state would be greatly appreciated. However suggestions for what I should do would be invaluable!

Thanks.

The outer glow on the large "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" text in the middle looks odd. The "New Site now lauched" text needs anti-aliasing. The blue could work well, but I'm not too sure if the black is going to work for something that looks like its a company template. =/

Maybe add a bg colour for the content on left or right like #e8e8e8.

Or maybe try linking the image in the middle with the lower content like you have with the nav?

On the right side maybe have some of your most recent work, current working and how many slots you have left for potential clients.

Ok thanks for the comments. I'll try to make some improvements, probably do the linking thing again. Also I'm not going anti-alias the 'New site now launched' text since that would be outputted by the browser and not as an image.

I shall try and post an update A.S.A.P.

It looks great but what's with the white gap next to the logo? Anything going there?

I think he meant for that but I think it looks ok but if you want to cover it up you could add your previsous, and current clients in there or something.

Sounds like a good idea, didn't realise it was so noticeable.

Thanks for the comments.
