Old  How did you get your job?

This is directed mainly to the designers who work in firms and with companies.

I basically want to know what schooling you did, who you talked to, and how else you got your job, current or not.

LOL - Luck you ^

I got a contract with an ecommerce platform to create a user manual with a FAQ section and to do design jobs here and there for the platform's clients. I landed this deal by creating a website for a client using the platform. It was the first time I used it and the owner of the platform was impressed at how little help I needed.

My last full-time job I got through networking. A friend was working as their 'webmaster' at the time and they wanted an illustration doing. He came to me and they were really happy with the work I produced so when he was thinking about leaving I was the first and only person they called.

My next full-time position, (which is hopefully imminent), will come from joining lots of creative agencies within 100 miles and having them 'pimp' me to their clients, from impressing their clients with my work and with my professional attitude in interviews.

LOL @ Bennett... would that compromise your position if you fall out with the daughter though?

HOW CRUDE!*sorry for being rude, i didn't mean to start anything

So I guess just doing random work and leaving your name on it spreads your name just as well as handing out a resume?

This is easy question but not EASY to get a job.

To get a job = newspaper advertising, interview, resume, folio.
