PC Windows?

I am getting a custom pc at newegg for around $2,000 and I was wondering if I should get XP or Vista? I want to play games like: Rainbow Six: RavenShield ( I know its old), BF2, LOTR: BFME 1 & 2, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and all the new games coming out (Crysis also). What windows allow me to have all the work and which is the best for gaming?

Most problems with games in vista are caused by copy protection systems, PunkBuster (known to cause some problems with BF2) and other programs/drivers that are used to run the game.

Well, I know that if you're trying to do SLI graphics cards for those games there aren't currently drivers for Vista allowing SLI. Personally I would want to order XP but make sure it has a free upgrade to Vista for when everything becomes smoothly integrated.

No better time than now to move into a Linux distro. No built in DRM controlling your music and videos, free, stable, secure, easy as pie to use, etc etc...



But you probably don't want to hear about Linux, so stick with XP.

Hes a gamer, thats one thing windows has above all (not performance wise) I recommend you use what ever you have now, and upgrade when games don't work on xp.

For current games, you need to really stick with XP
For future games, you'll definatly need to go with Vista for DX10

You could alternatly have a multi-boot system, so you can choose which to boot...

yup..I'm agree with you..i got the same conflict a few months ago during purchase my nephew computer. This boy quite addicted to pc game, therefore i asked the shop owner, is it possible to have multi-boot system? He suggested to upgrade that computer in order to sure it compatible with vista and have a multi boot system for my future games.

A multi boot system is prolly going to be your best bet. Then once all the new games are out, drop the XP half.

Any where I can find how to do a multi boot system? Do I need a big HD (I have getting a 500GB)

Just go with XP, until Vista becomes stable.

Dont waste your money on buying Vista when its unsupported.
