  Old  Dedicated Server Proxy

Hello,

From what I have been reading, what that proxy does it basically does all my requests of the internet for me...right? So if I was to setup the proxy with my server (t1 connection) would that at all speed up my connection to the internet?

For example, I can downloaded files now at about 500kb/s and about 1.5mb/s+ on my server, does that mean that I could download 1.5mb/s+ on my computer through the proxy?

I might be misunderstanding, can someone please clarify. Also if it is what i'm saying, can someone either explain how to set one up for windows server 2003 SP2, or point me to a good tutorial.

Sincerly,
Jordan Martin

Erm yes, you've made a huge mistake.

From what you've said, you can download down your line at 500KBps, now, just because your server is able to download at 1.5MBps, it will only be able to send you data at a rate of 500KBps (the maximum speed you can download at). Your maximum download speed won't increase, as you'll still only be able to send a receive data at the same rate as before.

^ That's correct. You can't go faster than your line, no matter what.
