Macbook Air
I was surprised that there wasn't already a thread about this, but if there is my apologies.
Does anyone else think the Macbook Air is completely ridiculous? It's got so many limitations that I just can't see how it's going to be successful - things such as ONE USB port, NO optical drive, and very limited specs. My regular Macbook, which I purchased over a year ago, has better overall specs and features, and just pretty much runs faster.
The only way I can predict that it will be successful is in businesses. Since it seems to be very oriented towards wireless networking, I can see that as a good way for schools or businesses to share printers, hard drives and files. Personally, though, it just seems like too little for too much.
Any thoughts?
Edit: Sorry, just noticed the Macworld thread. I guess this one can just be dedicated to the Air.

Apple entered a totally different market, for those on the go, on planes a lot of the time, general browsers and not needing a optical drive, many ports etc... the wireless world.
The MacBook Air was designed to be a compliment product for the iMac and other products, not to replace the MacBook line or other Macs.
My thoughts were the same as you when I first heard about it, but when you consider the technology in it (Which I assume they'll be putting into the other MacBooks soon) it's a good laptop.
So, it's built for the ultraportable market and not those looking to use it to edit movies, use as a home computer or media center.
It will appeal to many different people mate. Don't like it, don't buy it.

It appeals to me very much, I've already put one on order to replace my outdated Mac OS 9. It's great for travel, which I wind up doing a lot because of it's portability.
I've already snagged a domain and I have no doubt that it will sell fast because of the product's increasing popularity.

For a normal consumer this won't be too popular this will be something important to the business side. Don't get me wrong this is probably the best looking laptop around but its missing certain things that just doesn't justify the price.

Yeah, I won't deny that it looks awesome. But it definitely won't replace a personal/home computer for me at least.

It's not meant to replace that for anybody. It's a complimentary product to work along side another desktop for ultra-portable users. I can see this becoming very handy at university.

Yeah, well the portability is definitely a plus, but for so much money for so many limitations, I don't think it would be worth it.
