Because normal prices aren't "high-roller." The cheap people just creae a huge constrast due to them not understanding the value of an hour.

What you have to try to understand here is that we are attempting to take away the prominence from under-priced work to make this a better Market Place for everybody

Well thats what we really want to change - i.e. get more posts reflecting fair budgets/prices.

We want to make the main forums reflect what we feel are fair prices to allow buyers to realise what they really should be looking at as a fair price for quality work and the sellers to realise that if they are providing quality work then they should really be charging more.

Its a toughh transition, but in the end I believe it will pay off heavily. It is simply harmful for the growth of this forum to be budget buy.

Exactly - all the budget stuff puts of people who have realistic prices. Seperation should keep both types of user happy.

I really don't think that this forum gets enough posts in it's marketplace to make this kind of decision.

We have a very active Market Place, it's been more active though and the reason it may have slowed down is probably because of the low prices. If this helps raise the profile of better priced work at TalkFreelance then activity will rise so hopefully the two things can go hand in hand and sort each other out

Salathe I think you slightly mistook the comment I made, The sales that you hinted as saying was the meat is actually (sticking the with the same analogy) the fat of our marketplace right now. We want at the meat.

I have never bothered advertising in this forum because of the budget focusssed members. This may just change my way of thinking.

Good on you Talkfreelance staff!!!
