  Old  RSS Feed

Has anyone here ever had success without using an RSS feed? I do not see the benefit in using an RSS feed when many people keep their email open and check that everyday. Has there been any information to prove how much people prefer RSS over email?

RSS feed is something like the twitter feed. Some websites resort to RSS feeds and some resort to twitter feeds.

It would never hurt to have an RSS feed. Some e-mail clients are the user's RSS readers also, and I'm sure there are many users who would like their site updates to be separate from their e-mail.

I would argue that Twitter and RSS are not one in the same. Twitter is about communicating and having a conversation with your users, not broadcasting every single article on your site. I'm not saying it's wrong to let people know about new articles on Twitter, but I would keep it to a very low minimum.
