Add nofollow to all links in posts
There are a lot of people spamming here, trying to build links and it's working due to TalkFreelancing not having the nofollow attributes in the links posted by users.
Bottom line is, this place shouldn't be used to build linkbacks for search engines! Fake signatures, signatures with keywords to various sites while the poster is responding to others/making new threads that aren't contributing or making much sense.
Surely this will improve the quality a bit here?

If by "improve the quality" you just mean "reduce the crap", sure.

Or increase the amount of moderators to find and kill these posts in their infancy.

You message could have been taken as telling us we are not doing our job well. I'm not saying that is what you said, I'm saying it could be taken that way.

No no, I didn't even think of that. I'm merely stating more moderators will help to stop the spam thread/links, as there is periods when no moderator on the board etc.

Two reasons: first, more moderators moderating would be awesome; second, the current moderators don't really do much at all. Here's a pretty picture:
Hell, you've done more than some folks and you only deleted some posts in your own marketplace advertisement! So that is why you made my day.
