Old  Domain Names - Worth the hassle?

Does anybody bother buying domains with the sole aim to sell them on for a profit? Or to develop them into sites and sell them on?

Do you think it's a waste of time or something worth while?

I'm torn between the idea of this, so Im looking for opinions

I dont think so.
$8 to buy and its hard to find any worth anything much over that to justify getting, and the hard part is actually selling.
I was contemplating going into domains but its so much hassle trying to sell them that I think I'll keep to webdesign

It's a good business if you know your way around. I mean, it takes time to search for a decent domain (more often that not it's luck) half the time the domain won't make alot you alot of profit. At the end of the day, if it isn't already taken then it's probably not very good? Unless it's a new product and you can snap it up straight away!

I bought about 80 a few years back - good ones or so I thought - some I was going to sell and some develop... Only got about ten left now... Just lost money on the others and let them expire after nobody was interested for more than reg. fee.
