Don't try to re-invent the wheel. Users are expecting to see certain navigation elements, so if they aren't there, your site will be less intuitive.

That's not to say don't be original. Find the fine line between the two.

27. Easily to navigate around. Make it easy for the user to get straight to what they came for. What does the user come for? Content!
