Amen... if you use www.vbulletinskinz.com I think you should be prepared to give a very detailed brief, Tyler has had many skins designed by him but from reading his blog posts about www.vbulletinskinz.com he gave a very detailed specification and the outcome were great quality skins.

Hypro, the reason they look the same is because of the spec! Alot of people when they right their specs, just look at his portfolio and go, "I want something like that", when I had BidJam and BreakTheVault designed, I spent weeks.....researching, drawing mockups, pages of documents on colours and ideas....the design is only as good as the specification, sheldon is capable of anything.

Didn't you have a problem with Sheldon in the past though Robson? (might not have been you I can't remember) - I remember a thread about him on TF before though. He is probably the best "complete" vBulletin designer out there mind, I think he would do a very good job.

Out of all the recommendations so far in this thread it's got to be vbulletinskinz without a doubt, it's just whether or not your looking to spend that much.
On the other hand, I think a contest would still be a good addition aswell as hiring someone else. I'm pretty sure a majority of the designers here would have a go, I doubt you'd even have to offer a prize for it other than a link at the bottom. (only thing that'd cost would be to get it coded and thats like what? $175?). At least this way your getting the members more involved and the members who think all the designers are **** here would also be kept happy.

My problem was his price But then, this is a big community, you can't expect to get a decent skin for a few hundred.

$800 isn't really expensive, but the problem was when I asked for a slight revision or something it would cost more...So I didn't bother hiring him, it will cost maybe $1,500 to get this place designed by him

I would suggest vBulletinSkinz as well. If you have deeper pockets it would be cool seeing something designed by simplebits.com, but I'm sure that won't happen.
(oh, and I'm glad you like the 6pins design, andrewr )
