I am using SEOQuake, Quirk and a lot of good checking sites which also serves as my tool like seocentro.com, linkdiagnosis, seospyglass and backlinkwatch. Check them out also and see which one fits your need.

I would like to suggest some plugins like Web Rank Seo for mozilla as this gives you an entire scenario of that website like PR,alexa,compete rank,Quantcast,No of Google indexed page etc.This type of tool bar gives you an entire scenario and this will defiantly helps from an seo point of view where we are lacking and where we need to improve.

I think off page SEO tools like article submission, directory submission, forum posting, blog commenting and social book marking are good tools.

I'll give another vote for directory submission (quality directories only) and responsible blog commenting (i.e. adding something to the conversation). As far as tools for on site analysis, rank tracking, and many other things, I use www.seomoz.org (pro tools). They're pretty amazing.
