The overall design is good, such as the layout.
But those particular colors can be hard to read and are way over used. Seems like every other design we see nowadays has a similar scheme. I'm sure you could come up with something a little different
cheers

Looks nice yes, and it's a very nice template... but here's my thoughts...
Since this is your portfolio site, let's call it your own way of presenting yourself to the millions of people on the internet, wouldn't you want it to be unique?
I understand that this type of style with website design is very popular right now, which gives much more reason to try and avoid it when designing your personal web presence. Do you want people to go to your site and think... "It's nice, but I've seen this style everywhere!" or alternatively "wow... this is really unique, this guy must be really creative".
I'm not trying to flame this topic, or your skills as you are obviously very talented, I'm just trying to make you aware of a few things.
Think about it

I don't really like the background, a grey, or light blue might be better.
Otherwise, it look's good.

Glad I could help.
The site is looking great coded, but maybe make it so it stretches 100% vertically.
Oh and I think the background suits it very well.

Yo,
I think it's a good concept. I like the "Pattern 1" better, it gives it more contrast.

The only thing bothering me is the saturation/brightness. I like the hues, but I think the colors need to be darkened in order to get rid of the washed out look. If you notice, the reason TF looks so good is because even though everything is very light... all of the title bars & buttons are dark and very vivid with color. It balances everything out more wouldn't you say?
Otherwise, I like the format, style, everything, looks good so far
