Then what if we integrate Twitter and other services WITH the marketplace, for example on Wordpress posts you can share things via twitter, digg, stumbleupon and etc and even comment on wp posts via twitter.

Listen guys, take a look at the envato marketplaces. They have a heavy review process involved before they allow their sellers to put products on their market places. Only problem here is that we'd be offering services as well as finished products.I think a very simple system can be set up.
Each product that is posted has to go into the moderation queue until it is approved by a Staffer. The moderator will need to be provided with the files for sale so that he can "verify" that the offer is legitimate.
I think in the long term when the market place activity gains pace you can charge a (small) fee (like %) on the verification process.
As for services the individuals can apply for it and be reviewed by a member of TFL staff and approved to post on the market place. They don't need to offer much to gain access. Just a portfolio and (maybe) some previous feedback from clients.
I think it will be easy for the staff to verify portfolio items if they have designers/programmers on board.
I really love the idea of exclusivity and selective listing of services and items, it means that you can guarantee a level of consistent quality to your community and when that gets recognized, I can say that you will see a lot of activity, however, don't even think of or suggest charging a listing fee as right now the TFL marketplace doesn't have much to offer.

@Fez -- Well, I don't think that services should really be mingled with a marketplace. I see services as more of a job listings board than having to wade through a marketplace. I'd honestly rather see THAT grow into something more than the marketplace. After all, this is TalkFreelance .

@Jordan
Great idea! Just people posting WTH stuff and others applying. Most of the services offered threads turn into spammy marketing ones... so yeah, I agree.

This dymanic pricing scheme seems quite boss.
Something like that for the design/script section would kickass.

The only problem with that is a lot of people looking for designs/script usually want something unique.. And when they find out that the seller has sold it more than x amount of times, they're going to start a mutiny :P
I don't see such a large scale of sales for individuals here that this would even be considered. But I do like the concept

heh. It wouldn't be a mandatory option.
It'll give the marketplace an edge if anything.

If the idea of approving people by hand is being considered, I would strongly recommend entertaining the idea of disallowing offshore outsourcers. Outsources are part of the problem, they provide low quality products at an extremely low price. Additionally they provide nothing to the community as they are there solely to advertise. Getting them out of here would be very good in my opinion and be a strong first step in upping quality.
ps. I know this may seem like a conflict of interest on my part but I assure you that it is not. The crowd that goes for cheap outsourcers do not hire me due to my prices.

Listing should be a privilege earned, not a given right. Though entierly up to Artashes.
