  Old  IE7 spacing issue...please help

i am developing a new site and changed the design as well but encountered a space issue in IE7. I've tested it in FF3, Ie8, chrome, opera, safari and there is no issue.
This is how it should look:

this is how it looks now in ie7

Just had a quick look and my first thought is that the table/table-cells doesn't fill it's desired height due to the floats that behaves like that, and shouldn't take up any space. Same issue in IE6?

A simple test to know is to set at desired height on whats wrapping those floats.

Crap code produces headaches like these. and as i'm on a mac i can only guess.

set the element that you have all the header stuff in to:
position:relative;
overflow:hidden;
this should display all that you need to see. As long as the element is a block. So if it is not a div it will also need the class of:
display:block;
if the element is floated then you will need to clear:both the problem or if you have made the elements inside position:absolute; you will need to set the correct height for the element. I would try the position:relative; overflow:hidden first and then try again if you still have issues.
