  Old  Have you tried this?

I quit my job at a graphics studio cause they didn’t want to accept some clients I got because they wanted to charge them a fortune and they only wanted me to work for them, so I have their contact information and they still need my work. I think I need some backup towards the payment, but eLance’s fee is extremely high and it’s almost like working for the studio. I’ve seen on Facebook some stuff about myTino and even went to their site, they actually have a nice reliable service but I don’t know if anyone has done anything there or if someone has their profiles there. Anyway please help me cause I kind of need to get myself back to work. Thanks!

I would advice advertising locally, try the local paper and any internet magazines that are sold locally...

Yes, I started out completely locally. Not only did it get my name out in the area, but it got me the basic experience with working with people. From what I understand, you already have that. But if you have an up-to-par portfolio, you really shouldn't have that much trouble getting some clients.

All local Newspapers and local community halls etc. Look at the local businesses, these days everyone is looking for web designers =]

I hope your search goes well.

Create business cards and drop them off in places.

Maybe even make mock ups for individual businesses, take them in and say "look what you could have" basically.
