What font do you use when designing a website?
Just wondered if everyone uses a particular font for all their website designs or has a collection they often use? I tend to use verdana/tahoma for the actual html text and fonts like helvetica for navigation.
You can purchase the entire family here, it costs a fair bit though! http://www.linotype.com/526/helvetica-family.html
Please provide a link to the fonts you use (if they're not default)

I also use Tahoma and Verdana, they are most fresh and clean, along with Century Gothic (good for logos)
Also another default font, MS Sans Serif, can look quite good/techy looking

I am a total Flasher... so font options are limitless... however, readability is still important. Other than the ones already mentioned, I use Microgramma often. There are tons of places to find it but here's a quick link:

Question: I know arial has a bad rep... but i don't know why. I like it. It's easy to read. Is the problem that it's over-used? Just wondering...

Just remember that the font you choose has to be available on the users computer or it will default to the closest match (usually Times New Roman).

I use sans: Myriad and Rotis Sans & serif: Minion, a fair bit for logos lately.
On page I mix and match, (between sites not on the same site), Verdana, Tahoma and Arial for variation.
I'm also liking Trebuchet MS a fair bit on-page lately with the standard fall-backs for non Microsoft users.

You should provide fall-back fonts in your CSS e.g.
font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
