Well one of the main reasons for service pack 3 is for the office packages.
One main issue here at work is with users outgoing email authentication, whether outlook doesn't fully cope with it thus M$ has corrected it in this update. Aside from that I have no idea what it corrects.

Finally... Back on topic, thanks jeff.
Like I said, I don't really know what to look for either and couldn't tell you if my computers performance enhanced or not as I was using Vista up until a week ago when I bought my desktop.

Service Pack 3 offers no known/proven performance enhancements at all, and there's no reason to believe so. The only reported performance increases are related to the Microsoft Office packages, but many believe that this is simply a placebo effect, as benchmarks don't show anything significant.
As for what SP3 actually fixes, there's a huge list here:

Have fun

I've switched back to XP when I got SP3. Way more stable, faster, and a lot less headaches. Even though they DID improve Vista with their SP1, still.. XP is a much better system for people who use their PC for more then a media PC.

I've installed SP3 and haven't really noticed any significant changes. My computer does seem to be running smoother. I guess its best to have it either way.

It's not faster at all, that's merely a placebo effect
SP3 is essentially nothing more than a huge collection of hotfixes since SP2.

I installed the SP3 back when it was in Beta, it was a bad mistake. My computer messed up for whatever reason, so I've been reluctant to upgrade. o.x

Heh. I was getting a "Delayed Write Error" every few minutes just the past 24 hours (quite annoying), and it said there was a fix for it in SP3, and so far everything is great.
Lets hope I'm not speaking too soon.
