I like your thinking Jako, we must hate taco bell cause we hate kfc! FIGHT THE MAN! ha, nah just kidding i love tacobell, and pizza hut but hate kfc.
@ Adam: I didnt have a desktop, i had the Area-51 m9750 notebook from them and it couldn't handle the games i wanted along with msn.. where I am a $400 emachine that can handle the exact game and msn along with firefox without lagging alot, it lags some but no much more then you would expect when running a game with other programs.
But yah, thats my experience I hope the best of luck with yours.
Regards,
Randy Cram

I'm with village idiot. If it has anything to do with Dell, even remotely, I wont go near it.

I don't know what the standard Dell support is like, but the support on the XPS line is 2nd to none. Almost always instant replies, and when I accidently screwed up the headphone jack last year I phoned up, and they replaced it all about 20 hours later by coming to my house. Best service I have ever experienced.

Dell might own the company now but it isn't there products. From what i've heard alienware was its own company/brand and had its own products, hence the look of the damn things. Dell just bought the company, and alienware still has its own support team.

Emachines are pretty gross lol. Take any budget desktop (emachines) with a decent graphics card and it can preform like a lot of gaming laptops.
I never really reccomend to spend thousands on a laptop solely for gaming. Technology changes too fast, and laptops aren't as upgradable as desktops are to keep up with the trends.
Adam what specs did you order? Curious to see how badass of a machine you got

eMachines have crap motherboards, they are just crap. My father is a IT tech, half his calls are for <$500 computers.

they are crap and have crap motherbaords yes, but i upgraded my motherboard and graphics card and its still less then regular computers that cant run as much as i can. I mostly bought this because it was cheaper then buying a regular computer without the monitor and with vista, as vista wasnt coming with everything at the time, i dont like vista so i downgraded to xp, but just recently upgraded back to vista cause xp didnt seem to want to ruin a program for vista..

Alienware are quality machines. In my opinion, its the windows equivalent to mac's (minus the seemingly more bulk and potential viruses). As long as it fulfills your needs and your satisfied, not much more can be said.
It doesn't matter who manufactures the computer, as long as the support and product itself are of equal proportion (quality product = quality support) then thats really all that matters.

build your own...the real reason for buying an alienware is the kickass case, but you can build whats inside an alienware for much cheaper.
