That's good to start off, i've done it myself. I had 7 tutors as new clients from that, plus a few students aswell. But you may have to ask the college itself to post flyers around, I had to pay a small fee. Never the less, it worked out fine.

After that, i'd suggest doing the same thing but around Universities, get friends (if you know any) that are in Uni, to post flyers up etc. As the age groups there vary alot. May get alot more interest there too.

As someone said above about Chamber of Commerce, I think every state does have one, I know there are quite a few in the UK. I plan on going there myself with a friend in next few week, i'll let you know what its like that. Chamber of Commerce is however for if you want to start up your own business (registered) etc.

What do you guys mean when you say offline? ;o I know what the word means, but in this case? How can you sell something from your computer offline? ;o

You should join your local Chamber of Commerce. Make sure to attend meetings, place an ad in the newsletter (if they have one), and get some business cards. The Chamber of Commerce can really help, but you can't be shy at all. Networking is the key to success.
