help with two javascripts on one pg
Hello,
I know the issue is probably a dupicate tag somewhere because when I remove one of the javascriots the other will work.
these scripts are well the first one is a clickable smilies script and the other is a htmlarea scripts. I am trying to learn to make a basic forum (to expand my knowledge) So can anyone help me spot why both these javascripts wont work at the same time in the same page
THANKS :-)
here is my code
Code:
<html><head>t page</title><script language="JavaScript">
<!-- smilie script
function MM_openBrWindow(theURL,winName,features) { //v2.0
window.open(theURL,winName,features);
}
function addSmilie(smilie, addtopic, smilieField) {
var revisedMessage;
var currentMessage = document.addtopic.elements[smilieField].value;
revisedMessage = currentMessage+smilie;
document.addtopic.elements[smilieField].value=revisedMessage;
document.addtopic.elements[smilieField].focus();
return;
}
//-->
</script>
</head><body>
<script language="JavaScript1.2"><!-- // load htmlarea
_editor_url = ""; // URL to htmlarea files
var win_ie_ver = parseFloat(navigator.appVersion.split("MSIE")[1]);
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Mac') >= 0) { win_ie_ver = 0; }
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Windows CE') >= 0) { win_ie_ver = 0; }
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Opera') >= 0) { win_ie_ver = 0; }
if (win_ie_ver >= 5.5) {
document.write('<scr' + 'ipt src="' +_editor_url+ 'editor.js"');
document.write(' language="Javascript1.2"></scr' + 'ipt>');
} else { document.write('<scr'+'ipt>function editor_generate() { return false; }</scr'+'ipt>'); }
