Reformating

I have had troubles with my computer and I have been using my cousins for over a month. My computer locks up when you type a key once you are at the login screen. Now I have my windows xp disc and I have reformatted it before but now when I put the disc in it won't pop up when it is restarted. It just goes to the login every single time.

How can I get it to work?

When you turn your computer on, on the screen that has your computer manufactuer's name, there will be an option for boot menu (usually the second of two options). Press the key to enter the boot menu (usually either Esc or F12) and choose your CD drive in the resulting list.

Try this, it is probably your issue: go to the bios and set it to load the cd drive first.
