$750, 000, 000...
Oh my lord, why on earth would you turn down that offer? Why on earth would you possibly want more than $750, 000, 000.
Imagine the house, car, island etc that you could buy with $750 million! I would just buy a nice house in my local suburb, close to school. Then get another house near university, then move back to my old house where I would work at my old school. I would also get my school refurbished, full airconditioning, buy some of the surrounding land. (The houses surrounding the school cost in excess of $2 million dollars, prime waterfront realty). My school would have massive acreage and the school fees would come down a lot allowing many less fortunate kids the chance to experience my schooling. Although, I would not bignote myself, instead I would do it all secretly.

Maybe he turned it down to get a publicity stunt also? The rate this would spread around the internet as it has done sofar will generate more hits to the website then its already getting.
Id prefer to stick with my offer of $2Bill, then not even $1 bill.
Thanks
Lewis.

because the audience is more mature..
anyway if they sold for $580mill i'd be surprised, the numbers going to unis and colleges are growing (how my family found it) and therefore so is the audience. You have to enter your schooling info and therefore targetted ads.

If the owner knew the real value was worth a lot more then what would the point be in him selling it?

The owners make up to $1 billion per year. Why would they sell it for less than the site makes in 1 year?

Exactly. People need to understand the revenue this site makes before making assumptions, and calling it crazy.
