Hey Rich, I'm currently in Chicago right now too.
What areas do you live about?

Hi there,
I'm on the northside of Chicago in Lakeview. Maybe us Chicagoans can get together somewhere. If you guys know of any web tech groups that meet soon we can get together. The next Web Tech Meetup group meets in about a month in Wicker Park.

Hey Rick, cool you live in Chicago. I was on a trip and was just passing through but took a wrong turn and ended up in chicago and got lost, I forgot what street it was called but that place is cool, so thats cool you live their.
Links.com keep that domain, its very uniqe and something I cant belive you got registered or purchased. Like someone else on here in this thread said, you can make millions off that domain, just develope it and maintain it, sit back and watch your baby grow.

Hi Rich, welcome to the community!
As for your domain, wow! I would think people are looking for golfing links or maybe link strategies for search engine optimising. Check out the analytics stats in regards to keyword phrases used when searching, that will give you more of an indication of ways in which people find your site.

Hi there,
Well, we shall see. I've learned that it is not easy making money - either on the web or otherwise. Much easier to spend. I'll give it my best and see what happens. First and foremost, I need a good idea. Then I need creative talent. Look at some of the multi-million dollar movies bomb. Sometimes, things work out and sometimes not. Wish me luck!

Hi there Julian.
First of all, thanks for the welcome.
I tried out a golf links directory with a partner for a while. It was O.K, but really nothing to speak of. It is impossible to effectively compete against the big guns. They have the content.
I've looked at the analytics. For the most part, people are just typing in links.com. About 8% of the visitors are repeats. But I would not say they are active. Clearly, the site needs a creative direction. I am just mulling over possibilities right now.
Thanks for the advice and suggestions.
Rich
