1$ TextLinks are they worth it?
Well, 1$ textlinks have always been a quick way for people to get PR up other than doing link exchange. But are 1$ textlinks worth buying? Well look at it this way.. If your site is about cars and you buy a link on a site about cars you will benifit more PR from it, but if you buy a link on a site thats all about 1$ textlinks how much do you acctually benifit from it?
So i ask you: Is it worth it? and do you use 1$ textlinks?

If you have $1, it's worth it. If you have $100 it's far more beneficial to buy 1 advert spot on a big site, than 100 $1 links on a small site.

They're not worth it, no matter what site you're advertising.
They generally have a poor PR and are considered link farms and therefore are pretty much ignored by SEs.

Hmmm i don't think that is terribly true. SE's can't reconize that the sites are link sites and theyre are sites with more links than that. Also most of the good "link farm" sites have around a pr4 like pagehole.com and linkcheap.net so its better than nothing. At $1 you can't complain though.

A $1 link on a PR4 website? Yes it's worth it.

Only if you link back. If that were true you would just submit your competition. Search engines know you can't control who links to you but you can control who you link to.
As for those $1 links, I find many of those sites are recently purchased expired domains with PR.

Not worth it, you should target your ads to other sites like yours by yourself, Google a category the same as your site then if it's a forum there bound to be selling banner space .

All Advertising is worth it, especially when its cheap. Most link sites nowadays, have high pageranks, so your gaining a strong backlink for an affortable price. Search engines do optimize the link sites and the sites on them.

I don't know if this is true , but if your website is on google in any way you are breaking the TOS of google. Apparantly selling text-links on balh blah blah is not allowed. I will get more info tomorrow.
