Well, ATM the top of the line AMD (FX-62) Gets beaten by a mid range core 2 duo. Plus the AM2 mobo chipset is starting to get dated. On the other end, Intel are releasing crazy cheap Quad cores and brand new mobo's (P35 and X38) Which can completely smoke a x2. If you want a computer now, go get a Core 2 Duo but I would say and wait for the 45nm CPU's to come out in a few months or wait till AMD announce about their CPU's. The X2 will be better at some task (for example gaming) but still a Core 2 Duo will beat it since it has a whole lot more grunt. So If your gonna buy a x2 now, it's going to be a big waste of money in my opinion.
