Hang on, enough with the marquee bashing - the client isn't going to be XHTML genius, so he/she will just have seen something and wants it.

Thus what clients do. In the past, I've used: http://www.bartelme.at/journal/archi...ipt_newsticker while it's not a marquee - it's close enough that the client took it.
