I'm getting a Touch. Haven't owned a phone yet (16) and probably won't be getting one for a while to come.

No, I won't be getting one just for the typing factor.
It's terrible to type on a device like the touch/iphone.

My iphone does the job.
Besides, with the iPhone you get the updates so it is like the 3G anyway...

It's weird I have no problem with typing on my iphone. I type faster on my iphone than my old blackjack

i think it depends on the size of your fingers but for me it's the same , i type really faster on my ipod touch , than on any other devices
you do some mistakes but the auto correct works fine

Well my fingers aren't small but I still don't have a problem with typing.

I have smaller hands/fingers, and I certainly find it terrible to type on. I'd rather use a standard cellphone pad or a blackberry style qwerty.
