Account keeping?
This is primarily geared towards those that run a profitable business...
Do you keep your accounts, if so do you use a program to do this, if so what software do you use?
In school we learnt how to use MYOB however I think that only because one of the teachers got it illegaly for the school.

I use Quickbooks 2005, but I'm not crazy about it. I also keep my books by hand. This way, should something happen, I'll always have a hard back-up. I also feel safer checking all of the math manually and comparing things. Depends how much time you have, whether you want to learn new software, and what software would fit the specific needs you have for your business.

Excel does a fantastic job of this Scott, also as Jenn said keep a hardcopy or backup every day in case of accidents.

I just recently got into using quicken 2006, it would probably be smart to start keeping track of you expenses if you are planning on turning web development into a career, at first I didn't because I wasn't pulling in a whole lot a month, but now I have to because it can be easily noticed, and IRS doesn't like u to skip on taxes

I've heard alot about quickbooks, at the moment I don't use anything (don't really need to) but I guess i'll try and pick up a copy shortly.

I use QB2007 atm. I'm not sure about using online editions as i'm still not sure all the stuff about web2.0. Like is my data recorded and stored somewhere? etc..
QB2007 is good enough for me and also ties in well with me workin with my finances resolving around my university etc...
