Old  What are some challenges you're facing right now as a freelancer?

I know this sounds like a strange question. I'm writing some articles to post on ezinearticles and I figured it would be smart to ask the people I'm writing for what they are having problems with before I start writing. So if there's something you are having problems with that can be answered in a 500 word article, lay it on me. I'll do my best to help you with it.

Finding work at a fair price. Most of the internet freelancing sites are absolutely overrun with these Indian companies making crap for pennies. People are attracted by the price and go with them.

I second what Village Genius said, on almost every freelance site there's some so-called "experts" charging ridiculously low prices devaluing the work and while I understand that they have to make money, it's going to hurt the industry as a whole as anyone who lives outside of a poor country can't possible accept those rates. Plus, from what I've heard most of those so-called "experts" do a lousy job anyway so whoever hires them gets what they paid for in the end.

As someone who both freelances at times and hires freelancers at others, I think some articles about the proper way to run a business, how to manage time, how to know what to charge...those would all be great topics.

time management, scheduling projects- i.e. when you don't know how long a project is actually going to take (could be 1 week could be 2 depending on the client and the course of the design) then how do you schedule out projects after that accurately? Right now I am scheduled out for about 6 - 8 weeks, I always tell the client it will be a week later than I 'think' it will be, but when you start telling people it will be 6 weeks before you can even begin the project I worry they will get upset. (so far no issues, but if they all keep saying OK then soon it will be 11-12 weeks LOL)

Agree with SiteHolder, i would like to know how to manage a business website. Which payments methods to offer to customers, how the payment work (pay first or after the service?), having a professionnal email or just a simple Gmail?
