err its already the 7th, wouldnt you think it makes more sense to have the member start on the 1st to the 31st. so shouldnt we already have voted.

Not for Decembers Member of the Month no, voting takes place at the end of a month. As for Novembers Member of the Month thats the one where voting should have already been done and I have no idea why it hasn't I'm afraid

The MOTM is generally opened for voting just over a week or so before the end of the month for which the recognition is awarded. The winner is then announced as soon as the month ticks over to the next one.
Eg. MOTM for October 2006.
Nominations open from 22 October.
Nominations closed on 27 October.
MOTM announced 1 November. Happy Holidays!
