Best Monitor for Professional Web Design
I just wanted to gather some opinions on what to look for when purchasing a monitor for an employee who is a web designer. ie, what would you want?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

I have a 19" widescreen LCD that I got for £180 few months back. I am happy with it, it serves it purpose.

Who's the manufacturer, where you buy it from? Anymore details on it, refresh rate, resolutions etc..

Here is the monitor and specifications http://www.mirai.eu/Europe/ProductDe...d=59&cat_id=60
IMO its a pretty stable monitor. As for a website designer 19" is a good choice. I use the screen resolution 1280x768 and is pretty good to work with. Screens big enough to see detail and enough space to work with.

700:1 isn't the best. You should look for 3000:1. Most of the LG's and Samsungs come with these. Refresh rate isn't a huge factor for web designers, it pertains more to gamers who don't want to be affected by ghosting. But 2ms is the best I've seen.

Doesn't the new alienware boast 0.2ms?

So I've heard, but the best one I've seen in the market right now is 2ms.

Jako I do not play games. I design and watch movies now and again and that is it. So 700:1 is good for me.

Response time helps with games. Contrast ratio helps with what you just listed. You'll see a sharper image and it'll look better if you bumped up your specs. It may be fine for you, but it's not the best
