Why Firefox is still crap...
This isn't even that bad, sometimes it rocks up to 1.7gb of Mem usage. It's apparently a memory leak they've never been able to fix. Seems they haven't done so in 3.0 either.
I still use it though, just a pity nobody makes the same extensions for Opera

It usually doesn't go that high for me.
Right now it's about 200mb, and i have 12 tabs opened. Reasonable I think. How many tags did you have?

I usually have about 40-60 tabs open at any one time in Firefox. Opera seems to be able to handle up to 150+ without pushing 500mb though -.-
I'm not actually bothered by it, it doesn't slow my computer down at all, it's just crazy, that's all.

Yeah, that's no good. Every once and a while I try out another browser (like camino), but I always seem to go back to Firefox. I'm just used to it I guess.
Other than the memory leak, it's a pretty solid browser.

Why would ever need that many tabs open to begin with? Just curious.

I find it increases my productivity greatly being able to just switch between all the sites i need to, and what i'm browsing for, rather than having to log in all the time.

I don't ever have a problem with it. Even though there is a memory leak it still beats anything Microsoft has to offer.

Because i'd rather be on a system that hogs even more resources? I'd use Linux if it was compatible with anything.
