download them all... try each one independantly for one day and see which one you like best, there is no "best browser"
try, IE 7/8, firefox, opera, safari

FireFox is my browser of choice, although I may one day go to Flock, which is my second choice currently.

I think that's very good advice. I've tried all the main ones and Firefox remains my favorite.

Yeah, I wouldn't trade my Firefox and all its addons for nothing. Well maybe if Safari had Gmail notification addon... Or maybe it already has? lol

Firefox is my personal favorite, despite it's occasional high amounts of memory consumption. Although, I too would not trade it for anything else.
IE8 is Microsoft's first step in the right direction. However, when it comes to internet security and complying with CSS Standards, Microsoft is just learning to walk... So I'm expecting it to stumble and fall several more times before they get anything stable and running...

Yeah, the memory consumption thing sometimes gets on my nerves. Though I love the speed of FF starting/closing.

Okay, well in opinion the top browser list goes like so;
1. Firefox
2. Safari
3. Flock (Annoying splash page ruins it)
4. Opera (Don't like it, but it's better than IE)
5. Internet Explorer
I've never used things such as Navigator, so wouldn't know about them.
