Macbook + XP
Hey all,
I'm considering getting an Macbook, purely for the neat design, light weight etc. But I've not used Macs that often, and don't wish to change!
Is there a way to use a Macbook and install XP?
Thanks,
Marky

BootCamp. You can install XP or Vista on any Intel core based Macs.

I heard about that... Do you get a prompt asking which OS to boot each time you turn it on, or are you able to tell it to automatically boot straight to XP?

You can hold down shift suring startup and the option will come up to select, otherwise you can set in Control Panel (XP) or Preferences(Max OS X) which OS you'd like it to boot-up in primarily.
Need any more advice on a Mac or MacBook (I have one) just gimme a shout.

Is it worth it? I'm currently a student - about to go into my second year of higher education (A2 level) and will probably mostly use it for internet, school work etc. If I could game with it, I would but I doubt it'll play much

Yea you can game with a macbook, but thats going no where further then a basic game of cs as theres no dedi GC. Though you can just install XP if you like over OSX. But yea i would use OSX for doing basic stuff and XP for gaming if you like.

If you only want it for the looks, and don't want to take advantage of the OS, then don't bother. Granted, Apple spend a lot of time on the design of their computers, but if you're still going to be using XP on then, then you're better off getting one of the nicer looking "standard" laptops.
