Before I go into detail, what are you thoughts on the framework as a whole? I've read a lot of good stuck about codeigniter as well...

I often find frameworks to be a waste of time on high level languages. The point of frameworks or libraries is to either add functionality to a language that does nto easily give it. C++ is an example of this, C++ has no built in way to do almost anything, this includes printing to the screen. With that, libraries are given to complete the task. However, PHP is a very high level language that can do about anything as is, so unless there is a specific reason to use a perticular framework, I wouldn't use it.
