I like the designing concept of your splash page though I am not a pro in this domain. You have to consult with professionals for making it more attractive.

Yeah I would strongly consider removing that, its a blatant rip/over-inspiration of this http://toby-powell.co.uk/

And for the record, I work with the guy.

I really don't see anything to be concerned about. So, two guys decided to use a "vector" (for want of a better word) style bust overlaying a paper-style background.

As for Jamesy's splash page it is nice and what is there is well executed. Maybe I'm just completely missing a design decision but why are the only facial features your eyebrows? Can't wait for the actual portfolio site to come online, whenever that might be.

Edit: Hmm, finally found the portfolio after spotting the image map in your source.

it may not be a rip but he did 'borrow' the idea and used the background image and photoshopped some of the detail out so it looks different.

I like the idea however it doesn't portray any direction as far as usability goes there is no definition or information which instructs users to click in order to move on to the next page.

It is heavily borrowed - using the word rip was slightly incorrect of me.

If I were him, I wouldn't want my new splash page to be that close to something else.
