Advertising on new sites worth it?
It seems that when new websites initially open they start offering advertising space almost immediatly, i've found a few new sites relevent to my target audience that are offer reasonably cheap ad space, do you think it's worth it?
There is always the risk that the website might not last very long, I remember buying a months advertising on a design forum and two days after I paid the community died

It's a risk you take for the exact reason that you mentioned, that you pay and bang they go down never to return within a short period. Then again they might actually take off quickly and therefore give your link/advertising alot of exposure.
Personally, I'd rather do a link exchange with a site that's just starting off before I start paying to advertise on their site. That way I don't really lose anything if they fly then it's great for me and if they don't well I haven't lost anything and I just remove their link from my site.

yeah pci is 100% right, just trade links, get some affiliates, and then maybe when they get going buy some ad space, still always a risk.

Advertisements are in the top, perhaps you're using an adblocker?
