Fluid or Fixed width?

Hi everyone,

We are currently doing a study on a fluid vs fixed width Talkfreelance. A number of you have commented on how great it is to have the forums 100% fluid, thanks to Salathe

Fixed looks really nice here, it works really well, but is that a reason to keep it?

Fluid would mean less vertical scrolling, and would also mean more options for building more resources for all of you. Fixed would limit this viability, but it could still work.

So we are officially wondering what your thoughts are on this.

Do you think we should go fluid 100%, stick with the fixed width or slightly increase the width 30-50 pixels each side?

Well i would say fixed because. i dont like fluid cause there is so much space not being used.

I just checked out the fluid version, and I don't like it... at all.

Why not both fixed and fluid Let the members decide instead of only having one to choose from?

Fluid. Its the Web 2.0 thing to do!

I put 30-50px wider. I can't stand the really wide boards. But I say have both.

I like 30-50 Pixels wider.
